The food-waste paradox

Leading cause of food waste?

Simply over purchase of food items, followed by over preparation.

Sounds like a problem with an easy solution.

A new study for the Cornell Food and Brand Lab has discovered that the majority of food waste could be prevented with meal and shopping planning, proper food storage and preparation methods.

In addition, the frequent suggestion of buying in bulk to save money actually contributes to food waste and does not result in a net cost savings.
